Brad Van Pelt

Brad Van Pelt was an American football linebacker who played fourteen seasons in the National Football League. He played for the New York Giants from 1973 to 1983, the Los Angeles Raiders from 1984 to 1985, and the Cleveland Browns in 1986. He was selected to the Pro Bowl five times from 1976 to 1980.
Brad Van Pelt, famously a member of the team's "Crunch Bunch" linebacking corps in the early 80s, passed away yesterday of an apparent heart attack in his home state of Michigan. He was 57. Van Pelt, who played for the Giants from 1973 to 1983, was a five-time Pro Bowler and teamed with Harry Carson, Lawrence Taylor and Brian Kelley to form one of the league's most-talented units of defenders. Van Pelt also played two seasons with the Los Angeles Raiders and one season with the Cleveland Browns before retiring in 1986.
